An Engine Diagnostic (or Scope Test) determines what corrections are required during a tune-up to get your engine running smoothly again
What’s included
Computer analysis of spark plugs, ignition wires, the distributor cap, rotor and coils, as well as the oxygen sensor and fuel injection system.
- Check of vehicle’s computer for fault codes
- Examination of starting and charging system
- A detailed written Vehicle Inspection Report
When to have this done
At your vehicle’s recommended spark plug service interval, as specified in the owner’s manual, or when experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- Check ‘engine’ or ‘Service soon’ warning light is illuminated
- The engine is running rough
- Poor fuel economy
Engine Diagnostic Test & Why this is important
If the Check Engine Light comes on while driving or remains on, it is a warning of emissions or sensor problems and should be analyzed. If the light flashes, the condition is more severe and must be checked immediately to prevent catalytic converter damage.
